CME and CPD hours · for medical and professional education

Hours a council can count.Signed into every certificate.

Give your certificates their CME or CPD hours once. Every certificate carries them in its signed record, the verification page shows them to whoever checks, and each doctor's Passport adds them up by year.

CPD hours in 2026, from 5 certificates

  1. 182024
  2. 272025
  3. 342026
A certificate awarding 12 CPD hours, and an example Passport that totals 34 CPD hours in 2026, up from 18 in 2024 and 27 in 2025.

How it works

Set it once. It follows the certificate everywhere.

  1. Settings

Hours, once, for the whole set.

Enter how many hours each certificate awards, in whole hours or quarters, choose CME or CPD, and add the line your accrediting body gave you.

  2. Roles

    Not everyone earns the same.

Participants take the main hours. A practical session can award its own. Organisers and volunteers can award none, in the same set.

  3. The certificate

    Printed where you put it.

Add the hours field to your design and every certificate prints its own number. Nobody types it in by hand.

  4. The check

Signed, so it can't be edited.

The hours are part of what the issuer signs. Change "12" to "21" on the PDF and the scan still shows 12.

Attendance

Hours for the people who stayed, not the people who signed in and left.

CME is only worth something if the time was spent. Tie each certificate to attendance, and Nyvarra issues it only to people who met the rule. See how check-in works.

  • Check-out, too

For CME sessions, ask people to check out as well as in, so leaving after the first talk shows.

  • Online sessions

Upload the Zoom or Google Meet attendance report and count only people who stayed long enough.

  • The evaluation form

Start from the CME evaluation template, and hold each certificate until its holder has filled it in.

The yearly total

A total a doctor can show, without a folder of PDFs.

The Passport adds up each year's hours by itself. A withdrawn certificate drops out of the total, and a corrected one counts once, through its correction, so the number holds up when someone checks it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Nyvarra accredit CME or CPD?

No. Your accrediting body does. Nyvarra signs and shows the hours and the accreditation line you enter, as your organization's statement, and never says whether an activity is recognised anywhere.

Can I award half an hour?

Yes. Hours go in quarters: 0.25, 0.5, 1.75 and so on, up to 500 for one certificate.

We changed the hours after some certificates went out.

Certificates keep the hours they were signed with. The new number applies to certificates issued after the change. To change one that's already out, correct it, and the corrected certificate carries the new hours.

Which plan includes it?

Every plan, Free included. Attendance tools like door scanners and Zoom report imports are on Organization and above. See plans.

Where do doctors see their total?

In their free Nyvarra Passport, added up per calendar year.

Put the hours on the certificate, not on a separate sheet.

Free to start. Add the hours in your settings before you send.
