About Nyvarra
A certificate used to mean someone kept a record. Then it became a PDF.
Nyvarra exists because certificates stopped proving anything. Paper ones carried weight because issuing them took effort and the issuer kept a register. Digital ones dropped the effort and never gained the record that digital could have given them. We're putting the record back.

How certificates lost their meaning, in four steps.
- The register
A paper certificate took effort, and someone kept the record.
Signatures, a stamp, a number in a ledger in someone's office. If anyone doubted it, they could write to that office and ask.
- The template
Then certificates became a template and a list of names.
A design shared in a group, names typed in by a script or a volunteer, sent out as an image. The effort went. The register never came back.
- The discount
So people stopped believing any of them.
When nobody can tell a real certificate from a fake one, every certificate counts for a little. The student who presented research gets the same shrug as the one with forty attendance certificates.
- The check
The records that matter can already be checked.
A council registration, a life-support card, an exam result: you look them up with whoever issued them. Nyvarra gives every other certificate the same thing, a record only its issuer can change.
For anyone holding a certificate
Three questions worth asking of every certificate you keep.
- 1Can someone check it later without asking you?
Scan the code or type the serial. The issuer's record answers, with no account and no fee.
- 2Will the link outlast the people who made it?
The record belongs to the organization, not to whoever had the login that year. Committees change; the record doesn't.
- 3Does it say what you did, or only that you filled in a form?
Roles, sessions attended and CPD hours can be part of what's signed, so a certificate says what it was for.
For the people who issue them
Make each certificate worth checking.
Nyvarra is built so that doing the right thing is the easy way to send certificates.
- Say what the person did.Speaker, delegate, organiser, hours earned, sessions attended. Each role gets its own wording, signed into the record.
- Stop sharing the template.Designs and recipient lists stay inside your organization's account, not in a public folder.
- Keep a record only you can change.Every certificate links to a signed record. Corrections and withdrawals are visible, never silent.
What we hold ourselves to
The rules the product is built around.
- 1Checking is free, for anyone, always.
No account, no fee, no app. A certificate is only useful if the person checking it doesn't have to pay to believe it.
Check one - 2Nothing is silently rewritten.
A correction is a new signed certificate that points back to the old one. A withdrawal says so, with a date.
The trust model - 3A person reviews every organization.
An organization's name goes on a certificate only after someone at Nyvarra has looked at who's asking.
How review works - 4We say what we can't check.
Nyvarra doesn't spot an edited picture by looking at it, and never says whether a course is accredited. It shows the record and asks you to compare.
