An example list of six certificate serials checked at once: three genuine, one replaced by a correction, one withdrawn, and one not confirmed.

Three ways to check

Whatever the candidate gave you, there's a way in.

  • Scan the QR code

On paper or on screen, with your phone's camera. No app.

  • Type the serial

It's printed on every certificate. Enter it at nyvarra.app/verify.

  • Drop the PDF

Your browser checks whether it's the original file. The file never leaves your computer.

Reading the result

The answer comes first, in plain words.

Every result opens with a verdict and what to do about it. Scroll through the four you'll meet most.

  1. Genuine

    This certificate is genuine.

Check that the name and details match the copy you were given.

  2. Replaced

A corrected version replaces this one.

Ask for the new version, or open it below.

  3. Expired

    This certificate has expired.

Accept it only as proof of what was true until then.

  4. Withdrawn

    The issuer withdrew this certificate.

Don't accept it as a current certificate.

For your records

Keep a receipt, not a screenshot.

Save a verification receipt with the candidate's papers: a PDF that records when you checked, what the answer was, who issued the certificate, and the fingerprints that prove it. If the certificate is withdrawn later, your receipt still shows what was true on the day you checked.

Fake verification sites

A forged PDF can carry a forged link.

Always check from the QR code or by typing nyvarra.app yourself, never from a link inside a document. Real results only come from nyvarra.app, and the page checks its own address: a copy of it running anywhere else turns red.

Seen something suspicious? Report it, anonymously if you like. Nyvarra looks into it and can tell the issuer.

What Verify can't tell you

Said plainly, so you don't read more into a result than it says.

Certificates from elsewhere
Only certificates issued on Nyvarra can be checked here. Not found doesn't mean fake.
Accreditation
A genuine result says who issued it and that it hasn't changed. It doesn't say a course is accredited or recognised.
The person in front of you
Verify confirms the certificate, not someone's identity. Check their ID the way you always do.
Edits it can't see
Nyvarra doesn't inspect a picture of a certificate. It shows the signed record, and you compare the two.

A whole Passport

When a candidate sends a Passport link.

Their recruiter view lists every certificate they've made public, each with its live result beside it. One link instead of a folder of attachments.

About the Passport

Hiring at volume

Checking hundreds at a time?

The verification API returns the same answer as the page, in a form your hiring system reads. Bulk verification for background-check firms is ₨25,000 per 1,000 checks. Single checks on the website stay free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Checking is free for anyone, with no account, no app and no fee, however many certificates you check one at a time.

The serial isn't found. Is the certificate fake?

Not necessarily. Verify can only check certificates issued on Nyvarra, so a certificate from somewhere else won't be found here. Ask whoever issued it how to check it.

Does a genuine result mean the qualification is accredited?

No. It means the named organization issued this certificate to this person and it hasn't changed since. Nyvarra never says whether a course is accredited or recognised in another country.

The candidate sent a PDF. Can I check the file itself?

Yes. Drop it on the verify page. Your browser fingerprints the file without uploading it and looks for the original. No match means it isn't the original file, which is a reason to scan its code, not proof it's forged.

We check hundreds of candidates a month.

Check up to 20 at once on the website for free, or use the verification API. For background-check volumes, write to us about bulk verification.

Got a certificate on your desk right now?

Scan its code or type its serial. It takes less time than reading this sentence twice.
