Understand certificates transferred from an issuer's earlier system

Read original issue dates, Nyvarra custody dates and correction history without confusing a transfer with a new award.

Some issuers move records from an earlier certificate system to Nyvarra. A transferred record can describe an award that predates the date Nyvarra began keeping it. The original issuer remains the source of the award.

Read the two dates separately

The original issue date describes when the issuer awarded the certificate. A held-since or custody date describes when Nyvarra took responsibility for keeping that record. A later custody date does not mean the holder completed the activity again, and an earlier issue date does not mean Nyvarra hosted the record at that time.

Check a transferred certificate

  1. Open its current verification record using the serial or recognized verification link.
  2. Read the issuer, recipient, award and original date.
  3. Read any transferred-record or custody explanation shown.
  4. Check the current status and follow a replacement if one exists.
  5. Compare the live details with the copy being presented and ask the issuer about discrepancies.

Corrections can use a specialized workflow

A transferred certificate may need its original rendering rules and proof information preserved. Use the correction controls available for that record and review the replacement preview carefully. The native bulk-correction workflow is not assumed to support every transferred format.

If an old copy behaves differently

An earlier PDF, a regenerated download and a later corrected file can have different byte fingerprints. A mismatch in an exact-file check is not enough to decide whether the original historical award was false. Compare the live record and ask the issuer for the appropriate current copy.

Migration preserves a record; it does not independently accredit the award or retroactively prove that Nyvarra witnessed the original issuance.
