Bring a design in from Figma

Copy a frame in Figma and paste it into Studio. Text stays editable and can become data fields.

If you design certificates in Figma, you don't need to export anything. Copy the design in Figma and paste it straight into Studio.

  1. In Figma, select the certificate frame (or just the layers you want) and press ⌘C (Ctrl+C on Windows).
  2. Open your design in Studio, click the page, and press ⌘V (Ctrl+V).
  3. Choose how it should land, tick the text that should become data fields, and press Paste.

Two ways to paste a frame

  • Artwork + editable text: borders, shapes and ornaments become the page background, and every piece of text stays editable on top. Best for a whole certificate.
  • Separate layers: every shape, picture and piece of text becomes its own layer you can move and restyle.

Mark fields in Figma

Name a layer in Figma after the detail it holds and Studio makes it a data field when you paste: name, email, registration, programme, issuer, date or serial. A box named qr becomes the verification QR code. You can also type a field straight into the text, like {{recipient.full_name}}.

What doesn't come across

  • Pictures: Figma doesn't share them when copying. They arrive as grey placeholders; select one and add the picture, and it fills the same box.
  • Fonts Studio doesn't have: Studio uses the closest match and tells you. Upload the font in Studio to match exactly.
  • Shadows and blurs, and component instances whose component wasn't copied (detach them in Figma first).

If Studio can't read a Figma copy, right-click the frame in Figma, choose Copy/Paste as → Copy as SVG, and paste again. You can also paste SVG from Illustrator or Inkscape, or a copied picture.
