Read issuer analytics and reconcile an event's results

Separate issuance counts, delivery, verification activity and Passport engagement when reviewing an event.

Different product counts answer different questions. The number of people listed, certificates issued, email attempts, verification checks and Passport claims can legitimately differ. Use the metric that matches the question you are asking.

Read each measure in context

  • People and assignments: one person can receive more than one certificate type.
  • Issued certificates: records were created; this does not prove every email arrived.
  • Email history: attempts and reported delivery outcomes, not a measure of attendance or award completion.
  • Verification activity: checks of certificate records, not necessarily distinct people or employers.
  • Passport visibility and claims: how holders have claimed or displayed records, not proof of an employer's acceptance.

Reconcile a completed event

  1. Start with the intended certificate assignments and the qualification rules.
  2. Compare the selected send with its completed, skipped and failed items.
  3. Inspect Issued certificates and account for corrections, replacements and withdrawals.
  4. Check Emails for unresolved delivery failures and retry only the appropriate existing messages.
  5. Use Analytics, where available on your plan, to review issuance volume by set, verification activity and holder engagement.
  6. Retain the relevant exported records and operation references if your organization needs an event report.

If counts do not match

First compare scope: the selected organization, set, certificate type and period. Then check whether you are counting people, assignments, records or attempts. A replacement can create another historical record without representing another person, and multiple email attempts can belong to one certificate.

A zero verification count does not make a certificate invalid. A high count does not prove that many distinct employers accepted it. Use analytics for operational understanding and the live verification record for an individual award.
