Give certificates an end date

1. Open the program's Settings tab.
2. Under How long certificates stay valid, choose 6 months to 5 years, or any number of months up to 120.
3. Save. Certificates issued from now on carry that end date in their signed record.

After the end date, anyone checking sees Expired. The holder gets a reminder 30 days and 7 days before, and your team gets a weekly heads-up about certificates ending soon, which is a good moment to invite people to renew.

Certificates already issued keep the end date they were signed with. A correction keeps the original's end date.
