Award CME or CPD hours and keep the printed record consistent
Configure hours by set and certificate type, print them through fields and understand Passport totals.
CME means continuing medical education; CPD means continuing professional development. Nyvarra can record the hours an issuer awards, display them when a certificate is checked and summarize them in a holder's Passport. The issuer is responsible for the award and any accreditation statement.
Configure the award
- Open the set's Settings and enable the hours tool if needed.
- Under CME and CPD hours, choose whether the certificates award hours.
- Enter a positive number in quarter-hour increments, such as 0.25, 1.5 or 6, up to 500 hours.
- Choose CME or CPD and add an optional accreditation statement that accurately reflects the activity's accreditation.
- Inspect each certificate type: it can inherit the set's hours, award its own amount, or award none.
- Map a design field to the CME/CPD hours source, then preview each relevant type.
Example: participants and volunteers
An activity may award six CME hours to qualifying participants but no hours to volunteers. Give volunteers their own certificate type with no hours rather than printing six hours on every certificate. Likewise, a shorter workshop type can have its own amount if that is what the issuer actually awards.
Printed wording and signed data must agree
Typing a number into fixed artwork does not configure the signed hours. The dedicated hours setting supplies the structured award; a mapped field prints it. Check both the certificate preview and the resulting verification record before distributing a batch.
How holders see totals
Passport totals group recorded hours by calendar year and CME/CPD kind. Withdrawn, replaced and failed records are excluded from the calculation so an ordinary correction is not counted as two awards. A total is a summary of stored awards, not an independent determination that a professional body will accept every hour.
Nyvarra does not grant accreditation. Do not add an accrediting body's name merely to make the certificate look official. Changing future settings does not rewrite hours on certificates already issued.
